Warren, Julia Clara, thePeerage.com. Julia Clara Warren was born on Pitcairn Island on January 5, 1874. She was the daughter of Samuel Russell Warren and Agnes Christian. She died on June 19, 1897, at the age of 23 on Pitcairn Island. She was murdered. (See "Harry Albert Christian.) The child of Julia Clara Warren and Harry Albert Christian was Eleanor Linda Warren. She was born on Pitcairn Island on August 14, 1895, and died on Pitcairn Island on June 19, 1897.

Warren, Kean Dunstrom, thePeerage.com. Kean Dunstrom Warren was born on Pitcairn Island on September 7, 1938. He is the son of Robert Lowry Young and Loreana Melba Warren. The children of Kean and Daphne Warren are Pawl Warren and Richard Warren. Kean Warren died on Pitcairn Island on October 22, 2015. At the time of his death he was survived by his wife, Daphne: his sons, Pawl, of Pitcairn, and Richard, of New Zealand; his daughters, Maureen and LeAnne of New Zealand; his sister, Shirley, of Australia; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Warren, Langford. (source?) He was born Apr. 11, 1929, on Pitcairn Island. He married Iris on Apr. 14, 1952. They had one daughter, Suzanne. Langford died Jun. 21, 1005, in Auckland, NZ. He left Pitcairn in 1958 to settle in NZ. In 1965, he settled in Auckland where he lived until his death. He was a member of the Henderson Seventh-day Adventist Church in Auckland. The child of Langford Warren is Suzanne Warren.

Warren, Leon Herman, Australasian Record 58, Apr. 12, 1954, p. 7; Lareau; thePeerage.com. Leon Herman Warren was born on Pitcairn Island on September 11, 1934. He was the son of Thomas Warren and Rhoda Elsie Young. "WARREN and CHRISTIAN - It was unusual that within a week the deaths took place of two representatives of our Pitcairn Island community in Wellington, New Zealand. On February 10, Leon Herman Warren, eighteen years of age, passed away; and on February 12, Mrs. Cora Adeline Christian, aged sixty-four. To the sorrowing relatives words of comfort were spoken, and one and all were called to a heart preparation while time lingers. Pastor L. D. Vince assisted in the services - D. A. Ferris."

Warren, Lorena Melba, Snell. Lorena Melba Warren was born on Pitcairn Island on January 6, 1919. She was the daughter of Christopher Stanhope Warren and Mary Emeline Christian. Lorena married Robert Lowry Young, and their children were Elva Shirley warren and Kean Dunstrom Warren. Lorena married Walter Lawrence Guy Young, and their children were Raymond Ron Young and Mary Young.

She was the daughter of Thursday Moses Skelly Warren and Roberta Mary Alice Young. She married Alonzo Orville H. Young, son of William Henry Childers Young and Nettie (?), on Pitcairn Island. She died in New Zealand. The children of Lura and Alonzo Orville H. Young were Lillian Christine Young, born March 16, 1912; Walter Lawrence Guy Young, born April 12, 1915; Fuccia Marie Marigold Young, born May 1, 1919; and Ralph Orville Young, born July 4, 1928.

"WARREN -- On Pitcairn Island, on December 31, 1937, Sister Maria Warren, aged 32 years, quietly breathed her last, following an attack of apoplexy, and was laid to rest just before the Sabbath and the New Year came on. Time alone will efface the sorrow and heartaches caused, especially to her mother and husband, by her death, and the pity of leaving her two little daughters, also an infant son two weeks old, motherless. Maria was a good, quiet home woman, an enemy to nobody. We hope to see her come forth in the first resurrection. - Ada M. Christian."

She married Philip Cook Coffin in 1881 on Pitcairn Island. She died circa September 1943, from 'internal trouble.' She was buried on Pitcairn Island on September 11, 1943. From 1881, her married name became Coffin. The children of Mary Jane Florence Warren and Philip Cook Coffin were Mary Florence Coffin, born 1 October 1882; Selina Isabella Coffin, born 25 may 1884; Samuel Eugene Coffin, born 16 January 1886; Esther Godfrey Coffin, born 18 December 1887, died 27 August 1958; Freeman Everette Coffin, born 21 December 1889; Phillip Cook Coffin, born 15 December 1891; Hyacinth May Coffin, born 30 May 1895, died 18 December 1974; Eldon Sterling Coffin, born 22 January 1898, died 1939; Lillian Ella Coffin, born 27 August 1903; and Millie Flora Coffin, orn 10 November 1907.

Warren, Melva Elector, thePeerage.com. Melva Elector Warren was born on Pitcairn Island on March 6, 1949. She is the daughter of Anderson Gilbert Warren and Royal Louise Brown. She married David Evans on December 25, 1967, on Pitcairn Island. From December 25, 1967, her married name became Evans. The children of Melva and David Evans are Vicki Lee Royal Lindsay Evans, who was born on July 10, 1967; Kimberly Yvonne Evans, who was born on April 12, 1969; Suzanne Lynn Evans, who was born on October 4, 1970; and Daniel Warren Evans, who was born on March 20, 1973.

Warren, Meralda Elva J., Lareau; thePeerage.com. Meralda Elva J. Warren was born on Pitcairn Island on June 28, 1959. She is the daughter of Jacob Ralph Warren and Mavis Mary Brown. Howard describes her as "a master cook, cake-maker, and cake-decorator." She is pictured on page 522 of Howard: "Pitcairn and Norfolk," National Geographic, Oct. 1983. She is also a ham radio operator, artist (screen prints, painting and other crafts), a computer technician, and the author of a Pitcairn Island cookbook. She is a much sought-after musician at Pacific music festivals to sing the songs of her own composition, of Pitcairn, and the South Seas. Meralda held several different jobs at one time on Pitcairn in 2008. The child of Meralda is Jayden Jacob Norfolk Warren, who was born on October 22, 1990, and died October 22, 1990.

Warren, Miriam Rosena, Lareau; thePeerage.com. Miriam Rosena Warren was born on Pitcairn Island on June 4, 1915. She was the daughter of Thursday Moses Skelly Warren and Roberta Mary Alice Young.

Warren, Morris Sterling, Lareau; Pitcairn Miscellany 26, Sept. 1984, p. 1; thePeerage.com. Morris Sterling Warren was born on Pitcairn Island on September 3, 1906. He was the son of Thursday Moses Skelly Warren and Anne Elizabeth Warren. He died on August 5, 1984, at age 77, on Pitcairn Island. In 1980 Morris was a pensioner on Pitcairn, spending his time doing odd jobs around the school. He was also 'notorious' as the Island's only smoker, and special dispensations had to be granted to the Island's 'no smoking' laws to permit him to smoke. He was the island flagman, and the bell-ringer at the church. He was mentally disabled due to genetic problems, the son of a brother and his sister. Reference: 'MENTO.' (Snell.)

Warren, Muriel Joyce, thePeerage.com. Muriel Joyce Warren was born on Pitcairn Island on December 13, 1928. She was the daughter of Eleanor Young and Burley Warren. She married Radley Beaton Christian, son of Reuben Arnold Christian and Edna Josephine Adina Warren, on Pitcairn Island. Muriel died on February 28, 2016, at age 87. She was buried on March 2, 2016, at Whenua Tapu Cemetery, Porirua, New Zealand. The child of Muriel Joyce Warren and Vivian Everson Christian: David Carlyle Warren. The children of Murial Joyce Warren and Len Carlyle Brown: Nancy Imogene Young, born October 18, 1947, and Lesley Len Carlisle Young, born July 10, 1949. The children of Muriel Joyce Warren and Radley Beaton Christian: Catherine Noleen Christian, born January 13, 1955, Gladys Valentine Christian, born February 9, 1957, and Freda Meradith Christian, born March 11, 1959.

Warren, Nellie Dolly, Lareau; thePeerage.com. Nellie Dolly Warren was born on Pitcairn Island on March 26, 1911. She was the daughter of James Sanford Warren and Ellen Catherine Young. She died on March 26, 1911, at age 0, on Pitcairn Island. Her mother was seriously ill with 'the fever' at the time of her birth. She was born with the same fever and died a few hours later.

Warren, Nellie Virginia ("Gena"), Pitcairn Miscellany 23, Dec. 1981, pp. 1-2. "Nellie Virginia Warren (Gena). Gena was born on April 22, 1899, on Pitcairn Island and died on December 18, 1981, at her home, at the age of eighty-two. In 1925 on May 15, Gena married Victor Rolland Warren, and a son (Reynold Carl Warren) was born December 18, 1929. Her husband died on February 18, 1930, aged 32 years; predeceasing his wife by fifty-one years. Gena served as an organist in the Pitcairn Island Seventh-day Adventist Church for many years. Her life was characterized by loving, unselfish service for others, and she was known for her kindness and selflessness. MISCELLANY records the death of Gena Warren with sorrow and to family and friends of Gina, sympathy is extended. Ed."

Warren, Pania, thePeerage.com. Pania Warren was born on Pitcairn Island in 1987. She is the daughter of Paul (Pawl) Warren and Lorraine (?). Pania Warren lived on Pitcairn Island in 1993. In August of 2006, Pania was the lead seaman aboard the sailing ship Picton astle which tours the world.

Warren, Paul, Lareau; thePeerage.com. Paul Warren (most commonly spelled "Pawl") is the son of Kean Dunstrom Warren and Daphne Warren. Paul was living on Pitcairn Island in 2011. His partner is Sue O'Keefe. He is the father of Candice Warren, Pania Warren, and Mason Warren.

Warren, Pearl Matildia, thePeerage.com. Pearl Matilda Warren was born on Pitcairn Island on May 20, 1947. She is the daughter of Anderson Gilbert Warren and Royal Louise Brown. She married Desmond Earl Christian, son of Wallace Maynard Warren and Maria Johnston, on Pitcairn Island. Her married name became Christian. Along with Elaine Kane, she had a monthly half-hour radio show about Pitcairn through Radio New Zealand. The children of Pearl and Desmond Earl Christian are Mark Raymond Christian, Jan Diane Christian, Shelly Leigh Christian, Sharon Rose Christian, and Sheree Joy Christian.

In October 1908, on Pitcairn Island he married Emily Mabel Christian, daughter of Elias Christian and Mary Elizabeth Young. He died on May 24, 1974, at age 84, on Pitcairn Island. The children of Philip Anderson Calvert Warren and Emily Mabel Christian were Colin Warren; Anderson Warren, who was born on September 11, 1910, and died on September 11, 1910; Vera Pauline Warren, who was born on September 17, 1911, and died in March 1920; Anderson Gilbert Warren, who was born on August 12, 1916, and died on March 30, 1975; and Irma Doreen Warren, who was born on June 3, 1927.

Warren, Reynold Carl, Lareau; thePeerage.com. Reynold Carl Warren was born on Pitcairn Island on December 18, 1929. He was the son of Victor Rolland Warren and Nellie Virginia Christian. He married Nola Iona Young, daughter of Eric Woodburn Young and Adena Julia Christian, on June 7, 1966, on Pitcairn Island. Reynold was the Pitcairn Island postmaster in 1980. He was living on Pitcairn Island in 2008. The child of Reynold and Nola Iona Young was Berry Ronald Young, born September 28, 1955.

Warren, Roberta, Australasian Record 61, Nov. 25, 1957, p. 15. "WARREN -- On August 16 Roberta Warren was laid peacefully to rest in the Rotorua cemetery. Our late sister's life was full of service to others both in Pitcairn Island and in New Zealand, as one of the descendants from the 'Bounty' she vividly remembered the time when the island's inhabitants became Sabbath-keepers. Sister Warren became the first Sabbath school secretary. Because of her interest in young and old, our sister leaves memories that will long be remembered. Her patience in affliction, her faithfulness in the study of God's Word, and her hope in the soon coming of Jesus were ever an inspiration to all. Relatives and friends from Pitcairn joined with members of the Rotorua church in paying tribute to Sister Warren at the service conducted by Pastor J. A. Mitchell and the writer. - R. M. Parr." Warren, Robinson Wiles, Lareau; thePeerage.com. Robinson Wiles Warren was born on Pitcairn Island on January 27, 1927. He was the son of Alwyn Alexander Warren and Emily Myrtle Warren. He married Barbara Fern Warren, daughter of Christopher Stanhope Warren and Mary Emeline Christian, on Pitcairn Island. He died on July 20, 1975, at age 48, in New Zealand from cancer. He and the children joined their mother in New Zealand in 1963, after some years of separation while the mother was receiving extensive medical treatment in Wellington. The children of Robinson and Barbara Fern Warren were Beverly Lorna Diana Warren, born on April 7, 1949; Alice Ruby Warren, born on August 14, 1950; Marilyn Evelyn Warren, born March 22, 1953; and Judy Gaye Warren, born July 2, 1957.

Warren, Roland V., Australasian Record 34, May 19, 1930, p. 6. "Warren - Roland V. Warren, only son of Skelly and Roberta Warren, was born April 9, 1898, and died at his home on Pitcairn Island, February 15, 1930. He met with an accident some time before, of which he took no notice until February 11, when he took to his bed. In spite of all that could be done for him he rapidly grew worse, and finally lockjaw set in, to which he succumbed in great agony. He leaves a wife and infant, father, mother, and four sisters to mourn their loss. During our stay on Pitcairn, Roland was faithful in attending services and showed great interest. We extend our deep sympathy to the bereft relatives and all the Pitcairn friends. In so small a community so closely associated, the loss of one is felt and the deceased missed by all. We commend the bereaved to God for that real comfort and preparation which will assure us a part in the first resurrection when the Life- giver shall come. - Edwin S. Butz."

Warren, Samuel Russell, thePeerage.com. Samuel Russell Warren was born on February 28, 1830 at Tiverton, Rhode Island, U.S.A. He married Agnes Christian, daughter of Thursday October Christian and Mary Young on December 6, 1863, on Norfolk Island. He died on November 13, 1877, on Pitcairn Island at the age of 47. The children of Samuel and Agnes were James Sanford Warren, born September 9, 1864, and died in May 1944; Mary Jane Florence Warren, born May 24, 1866, and died in September 1943; Gertrude Eliza Warren, born November 30, 1867, and died February 12, 1950; Catherine Edith Warren, born October 5, 1869, and died in July 1936; Anne Elizabeth Warren, born August 15, 1871, and died in December 1946; Julia Clara Warren, born January 5, 1874, and died June 19, 1897; Thursday Moses Skelly Warren, born November 25, 1875; and George Francis Chris Warren, born April 20, 1877, and died September 2, 1959. Samuel Warren and his brother Frank A. Warren were whalers and sailed from New Bedford, Massachusetts, to the South Pacific Ocean aboard the ship Hope on May 9, 1857. On this voyage Frank was murdered and buried on Norfolk Island. Samuel Warren arrived on Pitcairn Island in 1864 as part of the second group of Pitcairn returnees from Norfolk. Samuel was said to be a descendant of Ralph De Neville, born in 1364, in Durham, England. Ralph was married to Lady Joan Beaufort of Lancaster.

Warren, Skelly Maynard, Australasian Record 44, Oct. 14, 1940, p. 7. Skelly died in New Zealand. "WARREN -- Brother Skelly Maynard Warren, who hailed from Pitcairn Island, passed to his rest on September 17, 1940, in the Wellington Hospital, New Zealand. During his lifetime of threescore years and five, he had sailed far from his native hearth, and once represented his people in audience with His Majesty King George V at Buckingham Palace. During his last short illness, in expressing his love for Christ, he requested that should he be called away his favorite hymn, 'I Am Going Home,' be sung. As Brother Heggie spoke his message of comfort at the chapel, a number of the stalwart sons of Pitcairn stood around the bier, and in their rich, musical voices rendered this, their last token of respect and love. At the crematorium the writer read the final words of consolation from the Word of God to the sorrowing daughters and friends, and heartfelt sympathy was extended in prayer for Sister Warren in her island home. May the dawn soon break and the shadows flee away. - R. P. Brown."

Warren, Sterling Andrew, Lareau; thePeerage.com. Sterling Andrew Warren was born on Pitcairn Island on May 19, 1910. He was the son of Elliott Archibald Warren and Mary Dora Young. He married Aunoa (?), on board the Yankee. Andy went to sea on Norman Hall's 'Pro Patria' that was shipwrecked on Temoe (a sandspit between Pitcairn and Mangareva. While at Mangareva, he courted his bride-to- be, Aunoa, but was unable to marry her for lack of his birth certificate. Captain Irving Johnson and his wife, Electa, rescued them, and performed the marriage on the way back to Pitcairn (Silverman: Pitcairn Island). Sterling usually went by his middle name of Andy. The children of Sterling and Aunoa (?) were Tuera Elliott Warren, who was born on October 20, 1934; Bena Violet Warren, who was born on January 6, 1936; and Erwin Tehuera Warren, who was born on February 10, 1937.

Warren, Suzanne, thePeerage.com. Suzanne Warren is the daughter of Langford Warren. She married Ronald James Darrin Christian, son of Unknown (?) and Carol Grace Christian. The children of Suzanne and Ronald James Darrin Christian are Jason Christian-Warren, born in 1986; and Darrin Christian-Warren, born in 1993.

He married Rhoda Elsie Young, daughter of Edwin Carlton Young and Vesta Annesly Young, on Pitcairn Island. The child of Thomas and Rhoda Elsie Young is Leon Herman Warren, born September 11, 1934.

He married Nellie Virginia Christian, daughter of Edgar Allen Christian and Dorcas Almira Christian, on Pitcairn Island. He died of lockjaw on February 14, 1939, at age 31, on Pitcairn Island. She married Samuel Carlyle Young, son of Edwin Carlton Young and Vesta Annesly Young, on Pitcairn Island. Her married name became Young. She died on Pitcairn Island on October 6, 2007. Warren, Wallace Maynard, Lareau; thePeerage.com. Wallace Maynard Warren was born on Pitcairn Island on March 31, 1904. He was the son of George Francis Chris Warren and Alice Lily Butler. He married Maria Johnston, daughter of Louis Johnstone and Caroline Agatha Christian in December 1922. He died on August 25, 1988, at age 84, in New Zealand. From his obituary in the Pitcairn Miscellany: 'Maynard, for all accounts, was as typical a Pitcairn male as the boys and men of his time, strong, agile, and quick of mind. Warren Christian speaks of a time, while fishing with Maynard and Christy Warren, when Maynard dived into the water and caught hold of the tail of a cuta that Christy had speared, but that threatened to get away. The fish did break free, but rather than let it out of his clutches, Maynard held on while it pulled him through the water, much to the delight of onlookers! Fortunately the fish tired, and with the help of others, both Maynard and the fish were helped on board.' Maynard was one of the sail- makers in the days when the 38-foot longboats were in use. He was also an excellent gardener and a deacon in the church for many years. He died while in New Zealand for medical treatment. The child of Walma and Norma Ruth Jacobsen was Leona Panda Gladys Jacobsen, who was born on May 15, 1944. Walma died on March 9, 2009, at the age of 86, in Auckland, New Zealand.

He married an unknown person in 1998 in Auckland, New Zealand. A map of Pitcairn drawn by Dean at age 11 is pictured on page 519 of Howard: Pitcairn and Norfolk, National Geographic, October 1983. He studied 1988-89 at Longburn College in New Zealand. In 1998 he was skipper of the fishing vessel Seven Daughters.

John Williams gained the rank of Able Seaman in the service of the Royal Navy, H.M.A.V. Bounty. He and Faahotu (?) were associated circa 1790 on Pitcairn Island. He and Toofaiti (?) were associated circa 1791 on Pitcairn Island. According to Bligh, Williams had a dark complexion and black hair, and was tattooed.

Wotherspoon, Alan. Alan Wotherspoon, along with his wife, Anne, was Education Officer on Pitcairn Island in 1956 and 1957. A historic Pitcairn event during Mr. Wotherspoon’s term of Pitcairn service was the recovery of an anchor from the wreckage of HMS Bounty from the waters of Bounty Bay.
