Norman, Charles, Lareau. He was born Sept. 6, 1757, in Portsea, England. He was the Carpenter's Mate on HMS Bounty. He married Dinah _____. Children, William Norman, baptized Mar. 9, 1788, in Portsea, England; Thomas Norman, baptized Feb. 25, 1794, in Portsea, England.

Obuarei, Wahlroos. Obuarei was another name for Puarai, who was the consort of John Adams. Puarai was also known as Opuole.

Oha (?), thePeerage.com. Oha (?) was born on Tubuai. He died circa 1791, on Pitcairn Island. Oha (?) and Tinafanaea (?) were associated circa 1790, on Pitcairn Island. Oha was from the Polynesian island of Tubuai.

Parker, Alfred J., Steley. Alfred J. Parker, along with his wife Marjorie Louie, was the pastor of the Pitcairn Island Seventh-day Adventist Church from 1969 to 1971.

Petch, Henry Oliver, Lareau; thePeerage.com. Henry Oliver Petch was born on Pitcairn Island on June 10, 1906. He was the son of Walter Henry Petch and Esther Godfrey Coffin. He married Mary Loftus in July 1926, at Burwood, New South Wales, Australia. He died on July 19, 1973, at age 67. He was buried at Leppington, New South Wales, Australia. The children of Henry and Mary Loftus were Shirley Petch, Henry Malcolm Petch, and Mervyn Richard Petch.

Petch, Walter Henry, thePeerage.com. Walter Henry Petch was born on July 2, 1871, at Greenwich, Kent, England. He was the son of Henry Petch and Annie Wheeler. Walter had a child by Elizabeth Maud Young named Ruth Constance Petch, who was born on Rarotonga on July 11, 1898. He married Esther Godfrey Coffin, daughter of Philip Cook Coffin and Mary Jane Florence Warren, on May 24, 1905, on Pitcairn Island. He died on August 8, 1942, at the age of 71 at Petersham, New South Wales, Australia. Walter Henry Petch was a storeman. He had the title "Secretary to the Governor" while living on Pitcairn Island. He had nine children with Esther Godfrey Coffin, none of whom were born on Pitcairn Island. (For the children of Walter and Esther Godfrey Coffin, see "Esther Godfrey Coffin").

Pettigrew, Raymond George, thePeerage.com. Raymond George Pettigrew was born circa 1927. He married Oris Kein Warren, daughter of Wallace Maynard Warren and Maria Johnston, in 1952. He died on December 23, 1952, at Pitcairn Island and he was buried in the island cemetery. He had arrived on December 5, 1952 on Pitcairn with his new bride, a former island girl, and was fatally shot while hunting goats. (Pacific Islands Monthly, Jan. 1952). He was an engineer.

Petty, Thurman, Steley. Thurman Petty, along with his wife Marth Ann, was the pastor of the Pitcairn Island Seventh-day Adventist Church from 1983 to 1983.

Puarei (?), thePeerage.com. Puarei (?) was born on Tahiti. She died between 1790 and 1791, on Pitcairn Island, falling to her death while collecting bird's eggs from a cliff. Puarei (?) was also known as Balhadi (?). She was also known as Obuarei (?). She and John Adams were associated circa 1790 on Pitcairn Island.

Quintal, Abby Louisa Tabor, Snell; Lareau, thePeerage.com. Abby Louisa Tabor Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on May 27, 1846. She was the daughter of Maria Christian and William Quintal. She married Nathaniel Quintal, son of Arthur Quintal and Mary Christian, on March 1, 1863, on Norfolk Island. She died on Norfolk Island on September 1, 1929. Abby Louisa Taber Quintal also went by the nick-name of Taber. (For the children of Abby and Nathaniel Quintal, see "Nathaniel Quintal").

Quintal, Abraham Blatchly, Snell. Abraham Blatchly Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on January 31, 1827, and died September 20, 1910, on Norfolk Island. He was the son of Edward Quintal and Dinah Adams.On December 25, 1848, Abraham married Esther Maria Nobbs, who was born on Pitcairn Island on August 30, 1832, and died on July 23, 1910, on Norfolk Island. The children of Abraham Blatchly Quintal and Esther Maria Nobbs were Fairfax Moresby Mitchell Quintal, John Moresby Acland Quintal, Henry Stephen Fremantle Quintal, Harriett Thomasa Leonora Quintal, who was born on Norfolk Island on February 2, 1858, and died on Norfolk Island on May 3, 1860; Gustave Adolf Krisman Quintal, Charles Grant Quintal, Mary Louise Anne Quintal, who was born on Norfolk Island on April 4, 1865, and died on Norfolk on May 6, 1866; Sarah Eunice Quintal, Eleanor Quintal, Jemima Louisa Quintal, Walter Halliday Quintal, and Emily Quintal.

Quintal, Absolam, thePeerage.com. Absolom Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on June 17, 1836. He was the son of Arthur Quintal and Mary Christian. He died on June 14, 1868, at the age of 31, on Norfolk Island. He did not marry.

Quintal, Alice Maud, Snell. Alice Maud Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on January 19, 1853. She was the daughter of Maria Christian and William Quintal. Alice died on Norfolk Island on November 22, 1856.

Quintal, Amelia Rosamond, Snell. Amelia Rosamond Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on April 29, 1855. She was the daughter of Maria Christian and William Quintal. She died on Norfolk Island on February 11, 1868.

Quintal, Arthur, thePeerage.com. Arthur Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on May 6, 1795. He was the son of Matthew Quintal and Tevarua (?). He married, first, Catherine McCoy, daughter of William McCoy and Teio (?), in 1816, on Pitcairn Island. The later married Mary Christian, daughter of Charles Christian and Sully (?), on May 3, 1835, on Pitcairn Island. He died on November 19, 1873, at age 78 on Norfolk Island. Arthur Quintal held the office of Chief Magistrate of Pitcairn Island between 1840 and 1841. One day, Arthur and his best friend, Daniel McCoy, swam out to a rock a considerable distance from the shore, and there agreed to seek each one the other's sister for a wife. That place is now known as "Tane M'A' (Place of the men's agreement). This is the same Arthur Quintal who treated another sister, Jane, so harshly when she 'strayed from the path of virtue,' that Jane left the island never to return. When Captain Beechey was on the island in 1808, Arthur was the 'Leader of the Pitcairn Band.' He sat on the ground before a large gourd, and with his toes, he worked a piece of musical wood (Porou) and he beat the gourd with two sticks held in his hands. Later, he was a strong opponent of Joshua Hill. (For the children of Arthur Quintal and Catherine McCoy, see "Catherine McCoy.") The children of Arthur and Mary Christian were Absolom Quintal, who was born on June 17, 1836, and died on June 14, 1868; Nathaniel Quintal, who was born on November 7, 1837, and died May 1, 1895; Joseph Quintal, who was born on July 5, 1839, and died May 26, 1912; Cornelius Quintal, who was born on June 17, 1841, and died February 10, 1934; and Mary Quintal, who was born on April 16, 1843.

He married Martha Quintal, daughter of Edward Quintal and Dinah Adams, on Pitcairn Island on October 22, 1837. He died on August 20, 1902, on Norfolk Island. Arthur Quintal also went by the nick-name of Dowley. He held the office of Chief Magistrate of Pitcairn Island between 1845 and 1846. Quintal, Caleb, Snell. Caleb Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on September 5, 1837. He died May 7, 1873, on Norfolk Island. His parents were Edward Quintal and Dinah Adams. On December 25, 1857, on Norfolk Island, Caleb married Ann Naomi Nobbs who was born on Pitcairn Island on July 4, 1838, and died on Norfolk Island on September 27, 1931. Ann's parents were George Hunn Nobbs and Sarah Christian. The children of Caleb Quintal and Ann Naomi Nobbs were Perry Winslow Quintal, who was born on February 5, 1859, on Norfolk Island, and died February 17, 1859, on Norfolk; Douglas Murray Quintal, John Phillip Arthur Quintal, Sarah Ann Maude Quintal, Esther Quintal, who was born on Norfolk Island on September 22, 1865, and died September 30, 1865, on Norfolk; Fletcher Evelyn Quintal, and Lilian Quintal.

Quintal, Caroline, Snell. Caroline Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on July 21, 1827. On April 6, 1843, on Pitcairn Island she married John Adams, who was born on November 10, 1827. Caroline's parents were Arthur Quintal and Catherine McCoy. The children of Caroline and John Adams were Pauline Adams, Gilbert Warren Fysh Adams, Bryon Stanley Mitchell Adams, George Webb Adams, William Ward Dillon Adams, Elizabeth Holman Adams, who was born on Pitcairn on May 31, 1853, and died on Norfolk Island on December 2, 1868; Caroline Augusta Adams who was born on Pitcairn Island on January 5, 1855, and died on Pitcairn Island on April 21, 1855; John Bayless Heastey Adams; Georgina Phyllis Adams, Thomas Lyndsay Skipton Adams, and Absolom Capel Tilly Adams. Caroline Quintal died on Norfolk Island on June 13, 1869.

Quintal, Catherine K., Snell, Lareau; thePeerage.com. Catherine K. Quintal was born in 1818 on Pitcairn Island. She was the daughter of Arthur Quintal and Catherine McCoy. She died on May 15, 1831, on Tahiti. Catherine also went by the nick-name of Kitty.

Quintal, Charlotte, Lareau; thePeerage.com. Charlotte Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island in 1822. She was the daughter of Arthur Quintal and Catherine McCoy. She married Charles Christian, son of Charles Christian and Sully (?), on October 30, 1836, on Pitcairn Island. She died on August 16, 1883, on Norfolk Island. From October 30, 1836, her married name became Christian. (For the children of Charlotte and Charles Christian, see "Charles Christian").

Quintal, Cornelius, thePeerage.com. Cornelius Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on June 17, 1841. He was the son of Arthur Quintal and Mary Christian. Cornelius died on Norfolk Island on February 10, 1934. The children of Cornelius Quintal and Ellen Amelia Moore were Henry Quintal, Susan Florence Quintal, Hastings Quintal, Mary Quintal, Elizabeth Stollard Quintal, Amy Quintal, Ruth Quintal and Arthur Moore Quintal.

Quintal, Edmund Joseph Napoleon, thePeerage.com. Edmund Joseph Napoleon Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on November 11, 1846. He was the son of Arthur Quintal and Martha Quintal. He married Elizabeth Snell. He died in Australia. The children of Edmund and Elizabeth Snell were Henry Quintal, Rene Quintal and Lara Quintal.

Quintal, Edward, thePeerage.com; Snell. Edward Quintal was born in 1800 on Pitcairn Island. He was the son of Matthew Quintal and Teraura (?). He married Dinah Adams, daughter of John Adams and Vahineatua (?), on March 4, 1819, on Pitcairn Island. He died on Pitcairn Island on September 8, 1841. In 1833, Edward was appointed a Pitcairn elder by Joshua Hill. When Hill first came to Pitcairn, Edward attracted his particular notice. Indeed, Edward stood by Hill to the last, although this bias did not pass to his children. His temper was well- known. In one dispute with John Evans, who was a very small man, he brought the matter to termination by lifting Evans over his head and throwing him into a pig-sty, causing him serious injury. Edward was an honest man, but severe and straight-laced. In general, he opposed the entry of the three Englishmen (Buffett, Evans, and Nobbs) to Pitcairn, and especially resented their leadership role, feeling that the leadership should be among the native Pitcairners. He held the office of Chief Magistrate of Pitcairn Island between 1838 and 1839. The children of Edward and Dinah were William Quintal, burn in 1817, died July 6, 1905; Martha Quintal, born 1882, died December 25, 1893; Edward Quintal, born October 31, 1824, died January 5, 1856; Abraham Blatchly Quintal, born January 31, 1827, died September 20, 1910; Louisa Quintal, born March 7, 1829, died February 5, 1873; Nancy Quintal, born June 6, 1831, died December 24, 1853; Susan Quintal, born November 5, 1833, died February 18, 1917; Caleb Quintal, born September 5, 1837, died May 7, 1873; and Joseph Napoleon Quintal, born December 7, 1839, died October 2, 1841.

Quintal, Edward, Snell. Edward Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on October 31, 1824. He was the son of Edward Quintal and Dinah Adams. Edward died January 5, 1856, on Pitcairn Island.

Quintal, Edward, Snell, thePeerage.com. Edward Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on June 2, 1844. He was the son of Maria Christian and William Quintal. He died on Pitcairn Island on March 24, 1855, at age 10, from tetanus. While playing, he pierced his foot with a barbed arrow (used for taking fish from holes in rocks), and within two days he had died of tetanus. His uncle, George Nobbs, recalled that although he was in intense pain, and he knew he was dying, he expressed no fear of dath, and died saying, "Lord Jesus receive my spirit."

He first married Cordelia Ruth Christian, daughter of Charles Christian and Charlottee Quintal, on January 8, 1865, on Norfolk Island. He later married Angelina Ophelia McCoy, daughter of Philip McCoy and Sarah Quintal, on January 16, 1873, on Norfolk Island. He died on January 4, 1901, at the age of 56 on Norfolk Island. The children of Edward and Angelina were Edmund Joseph Quintal, born January 5, 1874, died in 1909; Albert Edward C. Quintal, born July 19, 1875, and died in 1926; Caleb Quintal, born October 1, 1877, and died December 21, 1878; Lara Catherine Quintal, born November 18, 1879, and died April 5, 1899; Louis Acklom Quintal, born April 8, 1882; Ellis Hunt Quintal, born April 24, 1884, and died March 13, 1942; John Swain Quintal, born April 8, 1886; and Blanche Quintal, born September 20, 1888.

Quintal, Eliza, thePeerage.com. Eliza Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on June 11, 1833. She was the daughter of John Quintal and Maria Christian. She married Benjamin Claudius Christian, son of John Buffett and Mary Christian on December 25, 1851. She died on Norfolk Island on May 16, 1906 at age 72. The children of Eliza and Benjamin Christian were Mary Emily Christian, born October 3, 1852 and died November 10, 1896; Charles Richard Holmes Christian, born October 31, 1854 and died in 1897; Sara Eliza Christian, born August 23, 1857 and died in 1918; Alice Maude Christian, born August 26, 1859 and died May 28, 1925; Julius Christopher Christian, born July 25, 1862, and died in 1919; Henry Herbert Christian, born January 10, 1867 and died December 9, 1867; and Lorenzo Fisher Christian, born August 19, 1869 and died October 25, 1926.

Quintal, Ellen, thePeerage.com. Ellen Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on February 4, 1837. She was the daughter of John Quintal and Maria Christian. She married John Stephen Christian, son of Fletcher Christian and Peggy Christian on November 24, 1861, on Norfolk Island. She died on November 7, 1910, at age 73 on Norfolk Island. The children of Ellen and John Christian were John Thornton Christian, born April 30, 1862, died April 17, 1869; Stephen Christian, born March 28, 1864, died March 30, 1864; Sarah Grace Christian, born January 16, 1866, died February 19, 1915; William Swain Christian, born June 1, 1870; Julia Eliza Christian, born November 30 1873, died August 16, 1904; Beatrice Christian, born February 20, 1878, died November 21, 1878; and Laura Christian, born February 22, 1880, died June 21, 1908.

Quintal, Fairfax Moresby Mitchell, Lareau; thePeerage.com. Fairfax Moresby Mitchell Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on July 13, 1851. He was the son of Abraham Blatchly Quintal and Esther Maria Nobbs. He married Sarah Harriet Selwyn Quintal, daughter of William Quintal and Maria Christian, on September 26, 2895, on Norfolk Island. He died after 1910. Fairfax Moresby Mitchell Quintal went by the nick-name of Faccie. The children of Fairfax and Sarah Harriet Selwyn Quintal were Lilian Mary Quintal, Lorna Maria Quintal, and Rita Hazel Moresby Quintal.

Quintal, Frances Adelaide, Snell. Frances Adelaide Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on January 21, 1851. She was the daughter of Maria Christian and William Quintal. Frances died on Norfolk Island on June 28, 1912. On Norfolk Island on November 28, 1867, Frances married Gilbert Warren Fysh Adams, the son of John Adams and Caroline Quintal. Frances also went by the nick-name of Fanny. From November 18, 1867, her married name became Adams. (For the children of Frances and Gilbert Adams see "Gilbert Warren Fysh Adams.")

Quintal, Hannah, Lareau; thePeerage.com. Hannah Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on October 3, 1849. She was the daughter of John Quintal and Dinah Young. She married Isaac Dunsmure Robinson, son of John Robinson and Ann Wade, on June 12, 1865, on Norfolk Island. She died on August 24, 1914, at age 64, on Norfolk Island. From June 12, 1865, her married name became Robinson. The children of Hannah and Isaac Dunsmure Robinson were Henry Wade Robinson, Anna May Robinson, Elizabeth Mary Robinson, Cecil Ian Robinson, Ethel Robinson, Martha Elsie Robinson, Enoch Cobbecroft Robinson, Isaac Robinson, Richard Ion Robinson, John Selwyn Robinson, and Harriet Fairfax Satterfield Robinson.

Quintal, Harriet Augusta, Snell. Harriet Augusta Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on April 30, 1840. She was the daughter of John Quintal and Dinah Young. Harriet died on Norfolk Island on November 21, 1897. On December 25, 1856, Harriet married Francis Mason Nobbs, who was born on Pitcairn Island on September 7, 1835, and died on Norfolk Island on June 15, 1900. He was the son of George Hunn Nobbs and Sarah Christian. The children of Harriet Augusta Quintal and Francis Mason Nobbs were Augusta Anne Emily Nobbs, George Rawdon French Nobbs, Thomas Sullivan Nobbs, who was born on Norfolk Island on June 14, 1862, and died on Norfolk on July 31, 1863; Sarah Gracilla Nobbs, who was born on Norfolk Island on January 11, 1864, and died on Norfolk on November 20, 1867; Harriett Eliza Nobbs, Jane Nobbs, Reuben Elias Nobbs, Edwina Nobbs, Alexander Nobbs, Sarah Gracilla Nobbs, born on December 2, 1872, on Norfolk Island, and died in 1923 in Honolulu, Hawaii; and Kezia Mildred Nobbs.

Quintal, Helen Amelia, Snell; thePeerage.com. Helen Amelia Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on February 7, 1848. She was the daughter of Maria Christian and William Quintal. She married Charles Frederick Yager on June 1, 1882, on Norfolk Island. She died on November 17, 1921. The child of Helen Amelia Quintal was Rosamond Adelaide Quintal, born March 23, 1878, and died September 18, 1937. The children of Helen and Charles Frederick Yager are Gilbert Francis Yager, Gllen Beatrice Yager, John Thornton Yager, and Alice Bertha Yager.

Quintal, Henry Joshua, Snell. Henry Joshua Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on January 17, 1836. He was the son of Edward Quintal and Dinah Adams. On March 21, 1858, Henry married Jane McCoy on Norfolk Island. Jane was born on Pitcairn Island on July 10, 1837. She was the daughter of Matthew McCoy and Margaret Christian. She died on Norfolk Island on January 19, 1917. The children of Henry Joshua Quintal and Jane McCoy were Dinah Amabella Quintal, Matthew Quintal, Henry Charles Burleigh Quintal, who was born on Norfolk Island on June 17, 1864, and died on Norfolk on June 21, 1881; Sarah Jane Quintal, who was born on Norfolk Island on December 8, 1865, and died on Norfolk on April 14, 1866; Anne Frances Quintal, who was born on Norfolk Island on July 12, 1869, and died on Norfolk on August 25, 1892; and Julia Quintal, who was born on Norfolk Island on March 16, 1872, and died on Norfolk on May 16, 1892.

Quintal, Henry Stephen Freemantle, Lareau; thePeerage.com. Henry Stephen Fremantle Quintal was born on Pitcairn Island on March 5, 1856. He was the son of Abraham Blatchly Quintal and Esther Maria Nobbs. He married Nancy Alice Quintal, daughter of John Quintal and Dinah Young, on August 1, 1877, on Norfolk Island. He died on September 21, 1907, at age 51, at sea, on board the Southern Cross. He was buried at Pek, Vanna Lava, Banks Island.
