Christian, John Stephen, Lareau. John Stephen Christian was born on Pitcairn Island on Oct. 5, 1843. He died on Norfolk Island on May 16, 1918. His parents were Fletcher Christian, born on Pitcairn in 1812, and Peggy Christian, born on Pitcairn in 1815. On Nov. 24, 1861, John married Ellen Quintal who had been born on Pitcairn on Feb. 4, 1837. Their children were John Thornton Christian, born Apr. 30, 1862, on Norfolk; Stephen Christian, born Mar. 28, 1864, on Norfolk; Sarah Grace Christian, born Jan 16, 1866, on Norfolk; William Swain Christian, born Jun. 1, 1870 on Norfolk; Julia Eliza Christian, born Nov. 30, 1873, on Norfolk Beatrice Christian, born Feb. 20, 1878, on Norfolk; and Laura Christian, born Feb. 22, 1880, on Norfolk. The child of John and Delia Mooga Adams was Charles James Christian who was born on August 7, 1887, and died November 9, 1955. John Stephen Christian usually went by his middle name of Stephen.  He held the office of Chief Magistrate of Norfolk Island in 1886-1887; in 1889-1890; and in 1893. 

Christian, Joseph John, Snell; thePeerage.com. Joseph John Christian was born on Pitcairn Island in 1809. He was the son of Thursday October Christian and Teraura. He was also reported to have been born in 1806 at Pitcairn Island. He died on November 24, 1831, on Tahiti. He was mentally retarded.

Christian, Joseph Viviene, thePeerage.com. Joseph Viviene Christian was born on October 6, 1904, on Pitcairn Island. He was the son of Sidney Elliot Atkins Christian and Ethel Virginia Young. He married Nellah Young, the daughter of Charles Carleton Vieder Young and Alice Helena Christian, on Pitcairn Island. The children of Joseph and Nellah were Lowell Kenneth Christian, born April 1, 1923; Evelyn Eglantine Christian, born November 16, 1929; and Tomlin Hick Christian, born March 20, 1933.

Christian, Joyce Norma Myrl, thePeerage.com. Joyce Norma Myrl Christian was born on Pitcairn Island on March 6, 1926. She was the daughter of Ferdinand William Christian and Marion Angela Warren. She died on October 17, 1990, at the age of 64, in Wellington, New Zealand. The children of Joyce and Walter Hiram Brown were Gloria Brown, Lynette Brown and June Doreen Christian Brown..

Christian, Julia Adena, Snell. Julia Adena Christian's parents were George Lindsay Christian and Elizabeth Jane Christian. She was married to Eric Woodburn Young, who died on Pitcairn Island on December 29, 1965. The children of Julia and Eric were Nola Iona Young and Leona Gladys Young.

Christian, Julia Anna Rose, thePeerage.com. Julia Anna Rose Christian was born on Pitcairn Island on November 9, 1851. She was the daughter of Thursday October Christian and Mary Young. She died on August 30, 1864, at the age of 12 on Pitcairn Island from consumption. In 1864 she was among the second wave of returnees from Norfolk to Pitcairn.

The child of Laura Lorena Christian and Walter Lawrence Guy Young was Ena Iola Christian who was born on July 11, 1936.

Leonard E. C. Christian was born on Pitcairn Island on October 11, 1868. He was the son of Elias Christian and Mary Elizabeth Young. He died at age 42 on January 24, 1911. Leonard as a young man left Pitcairn, traveling to England and then to the United States where he obtained a college education. He then went to New Zealand and then to Tahiti and its neighbor island Raiatea. He married Liza, the daughter of a Danish sea captain, and they had a child, Elsie Christian Schweppe.

Christian, Leonard Elliott Dasherwood, Lareau; thePeerage.com. Leonard Elliott Dasherwood Christian was born on Pitcairn Island on October 17, 1851. He was the son of Isaac Christian and Miriam Young. He married, firstly, Mary Ellen Oliva Buffett, daughter of Thomas Buffett and Louisa Quintal, on August 18, 1874, on Norfolk Island. He married, secondly, Jane Nobbs, daughter of Francis Mason Nobbs and Harriett Augusta Quintal, on July 12, 1908, on Norfolk Island. He died on November 191, 1926, at age 75, on Norfolk Island. Christian, Leonard Elwyn, Pitcairn Miscellany 23, Sept. 1981, pp. 1-2.; thePeerage.com. Leonard Elwyn Christian was born on Pitcairn Island on November 5, 1909. He was the son of William Lancy Christian and Anne Elizabeth Warren. He married Evelyn Rachel Totenhofer on Pitcairn Island. He died on September 27, 1981, at age 71, on Pitcairn Island. Trained in Fiji, he served as Pitcairn dentist, electrician, and barber. He was a Pitcairn Councillor in 1963.

Christian, Lila Adelia, Lareau; thePeerage.com. Lila Adelia Christian was born on Pitcairn Island on February 27, 1900. She was the daughter of Francis Hickson Christian and Eunice Jane Lawrence Young. She married Theodore Alwyn Young, son of William Aldred Young and Mercy Amelia Lawrence Young, on Pitcairn Island. She died on September 5, 1977, at age 77, on Pitcairn Island. Her married name became Young. The children of Lila and Burnell Young were Eric Woodburn Christian, born August 191, 1918; and Victor Burdette Christian, born December 18, 1919.

From October 17, 1869, her married name became McCoy. The children of Lucy Ann Hagar Christian and Philip McCoy were Michael Baker Quintal McCoy, who was born on February 7, 1871, and died on August 23, 1933; Abby Adelia McCoy, who was born on December 2, 1872, and died on February 10, 1899; Philip McCoy, who was born on July 10, 1875, and died on February 26, 1911; Charlotte McCoy, who was born on January 14, 1877; Elisabeth McCoy, who was born on July 28, 1878, and died on March 17, 1924; Selwyn Perry McCoy, who was born on July 12, 1880, and died September 11, 1905; Charles Fisher McCoy, who was born on January 18, 1882, and died on September 8, 1929; Lucy Ann McCoy, who was born on March 27, 1886, and died on April 12, 1886; and Annie Louise McCoy, who was born on December 7, 1888, and died on January 4, 1899.

Christian, Margaret, Snell. Margaret Christian was born Feb. 22, 1822, on Pitcairn Island. Her father was Charles Christian and her mother was Sarah, nickname used by the mutineers for both Tevarua and Sully. She was Teio's daughter. Margaret married Matthew McCoy, Oct. 30, 1836. Their children were: Jane McCoy, born on Pitcairn; Diana McCoy, born on Pitcairn; a son, born 3 Dec. 1839 on Pitcairn; a daughter _____ McCoy, born on 13 Dec 1840, on Pitcairn; Mary McCoy, born 11 Oc6t. 1841 on Pitcairn; Sarah McCoy, born 16 Nov. 1843, on Pitcairn; a son, James Russell McCoy, born 4 Sep. 1845, on Pitcairn; a daughter, Harriet Melissa McCoy, born 3 May 1847; a daughter, Mary Ann McCoy, born 8 Jan. 1851; a daughter, Rebecca Holman Ascension McCoy, born 5 Apr. 1853, and died on January 3, 1907. On 17 Jan. 1858, Margaret married William Mayhew Young, and to their marriage were born a daughter, Elizabeth Maud Young on 14 Nov. 1858; a daughter, Maria Jane Young, born on 5 Feb. 1862; a daughter, Helena Beatrice Young, born on 22 Oct. 1864; and a daughter, Margaret Augusta Young, born on 26 Jul. 1867. Margaret died on Pitcairn Island on Nov. 30, 1874.

Christian, Maria, Snell. Maria Christian was born on Pitcairn Island in 1815. She was the daughter of Charles Christian and Sarah. She died on Norfolk Island on January 12, 1889. On October 18, 1829, Maria married Charles Christian who was born on Pitcairn Island in January 1808, and died on Tahiti on June 25, 1831. Charles' father was Thursday October Christian and his mother was Teraura. The children of Maria Christian and Charles Christian were Rebecca Christian, who was born on Pitcairn Island on April 7, 1830, and died on Norfolk Island on March 2, 1871; and Charles Driver Christian, who was born on Tahiti on August 7 1831, and died on Norfolk Island on October 22, 1906. Maria Christian in 1833 married John Quintal on Pitcairn Island. John had been born on Pitcairn Island in 1812, and he died on November 14, 1838, on Pitcairn Island. His parents were Matthew Quintal and Elizabeth Mills. The children of Maria Christian and John Quintal were Eliza Quintal, Sarah Quintal, who was born on Pitcairn Island on April 5, 1835, and died on Norfolk Island on July 28, 1868; Ellen Quintal, who was born on Pitcairn Island on February 4, 1837, and died on Norfolk Island on November 7, 1910; Maria Elizabeth Quintal, who was born on Pitcairn Island on November 14, 1838, and died on Norfolk Island on April 28, 1900. On June 7, 1840, Maria Christian married William Quintal on Pitcairn Island. William was born on Pitcairn Island in 1817, and he died on Norfolk Island on July 6, 1905. The children of Maria Christian and William Quintal were John Quintal, who was born on Pitcairn Island on January 4, 1841, and died on April 29, 1907, on Norfolk Island; Oliver Macy Quintal, who was born on Pitcairn on October 10, 1841, and died on February 23, 1922; Edward Quintal, who was born on Pitcairn Island on June 2, 1844, and died on Pitcairn Island on March 24, 1855; Abby Louisa Tabor Quintal, who was born on Pitcairn Island on May 27, 1846, and died on Norfolk Island on September 1, 1829; Helen Amelia Quintal, who was born on Pitcairn Island on February 7, 1848, and died on November 17, 1921; Richard Quintal, who was born on Pitcairn Island on September 4, 1849, and died on Pitcairn Island on September 12, 1849; Frances Adelaide Quintal, who was born on Pitcairn Island on January 21, 1851, and died on Norfolk Island on June 28, 1912; Alice Maud Quintal, who was born on Pitcairn Island on January 19, 1853, and died on Norfolk Island on November 22, 1856; Amelia Rosamond Quintal who was born on Pitcairn Island on April 29, 1855, and died on Norfolk Island on February 11, 1868; Mary Louisa Quintal, who was born on Pitcairn Island on April 29, 1855; William Walter Gregorie Quintal, who was born on Norfolk Island on September 29, 1857, and died on August 2, 1943; Sarah Harriet Selwyn Quintal, who was born on Norfolk Island on July 2, 1859, and died on January 3, 1933, on Norfolk Island; and Martha Coffin Quintal, who was born on Norfolk Island on December 8, 1861, and died on Norfolk Island on February 10, 1899.

On Jul. 5, 1855, on Pitcairn, Maria was married to Charles Driver Christian, who had been form on Aug. 7, 1851, in Tahiti. She was the daughter of Edward Christian and Margaret Lucy Young. She married Norris Henry Young, son of Bert James Christian and Margaret Augusta Young, in January 1910, on Pitcairn Island. She died on June 25, 1984, at the age of 93, on Norfolk Island.

Parkin Christian and Rosalind Eliza Butler. She married Wilkson Carlson Young, son of Theodore Alwyn Young and Jeanette Baldwin Young, on Pitcairn Island. Her married name became Young. Christian, Martha Julia, Snell. Martha Julia Christian was born on Pitcairn Island on August 22, 1871. Her parents were Daniel Christian and Harriet Melissa McCoy. She died on Pitcairn on September 11, 1893, a victim of the typhus epidemic that struck the Island that year.

She was said to have been very beautiful, and was considered the 'Belle of the Pacific' by sailors aboard ships in the area. Mary Christian was married to John Buffett. Their children were: Mary Buffett Christian, born October 1, 1828; Benjamin Claudius Cristian, born May 30, 1831, and died Aug. 4, 1897; and Ephraim Christian, born Feb. 15, 1843, and died May 20, 1920.

Christian, Mary Ann, thePeerage.com. Mary Ann Christian was the daughter of Fletcher Christian and Maimiti. She was born on September 21, 1793, on Pitcairn Island. She died on January 2, 1866, at the age of 72 on Norfolk Island. She was the original 'Fair Maiden of the South Seas,' and is memorialized on her Norfolk Island tombstone as 'A Kind and Motherly Aunt.'

She married Simon Young, son of George Young and Hannah Adams, on July 31, 1845, on Pitcairn Island. She was buried on October 22, 1864, on Pitcairn Island. From July 31, 1845, her married name became Young. In 1864, she was among the second wave of returnees to Pitcairn Island from Norfolk Island. She married Christopher Stanhope Warren, son of George Francis Chris Warren and Alice Lily Butler, on Pitcairn Island. S She died on July 20, 1935, at age 35, on Pitcairn Island, from 'internal trouble.' Her married name became Warren. The children of Mary and Christopher Warren were Thomas Warren, George Atkin Warren, who was born on September 28, 1917; Lorena Melba Warren, who was born on January 6, 1919; Jacob Ralph Warren, who was born on June 4, 1920; Barbara Fern Warren, who was born on October 20, 1931; and Iris Fern Warren, who was born on October 20, 1931, and died in 1931..

Christian, Mary Emily, Snell. Mary Emily Christian was born on Pitcairn Island on October 3, 1852. She was the daughter of Benjamin Claudius Christian and Eliza Quintal. On August 23, 1868, she married Alfred Augustine Nobbs, who was born on Pitcairn Island on November 27, 1846. He was the son of George Hunn Nobbs and Sarah Christian, and died on Norfolk Island on September 28, 1906. The children of Mary Emily Christian and Alfred Augustine Nobbs were Helena Nobbs, Sydney Herbert Nobbs, Alice Elizabeth Nobbs, Clara Flora Nobbs, Benjamin Ffrench Nobbs, Francis Hunn Nobbs, Eliza Jemima Nobbs, and Sarah Marie Nobbs. Mary Emily Christian died on Norfolk Island in 1896.
